Okasan Securities Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kenichi Tanaka) today announced the entering into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daishin Securities, a major securities company in South Korea, with the objective of forming a strategic business alliance.

1.Reason for the Business Alliance

Okasan Securities Co., Ltd., in order to construct a system for product and information distribution in line with the "Global Perspective" initiative of its medium-term business plan, is aiming to expand its handling capabilities of Asian equities expected to sustain high growth into the medium and long term.

As part of this initiative, Okasan Securities Co., Ltd. commenced the broking/dealing of South Korean stocks in November 2011 but determined that it is imperative to further strengthen and deepen it access to investment information about the South Korea securities market and entered into a business alliance with Daishin Securities to achieve this while also opening the possibility for mutual development of future securities business in Japan and South Korea.

This is the fourth alliance between Okasan Securities Co., Ltd. and leading securities companies in Asia following the alliances with BIDV Securities (Vietnam) in November 2006, China Galaxy Securities (China) in July 2010, and OSK Investment Bank Berhad (Malaysia) in March 2011.

Since commencing broking of Chinese stocks in 2002, Okasan Securities Co., Ltd. has broadened its equity trading activities in Asian markets to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea and has been strengthening its Asian business through various measures, such as expanding its product lineup of Asia-related investment trust funds.

Deeping the alliances with our partners, including Daishin Securities, strengthens our order execution platform in the leading markets of Asia and enables us to provide high quality investment information to domestic investors in a timely manner.

Today, Okasan Securities Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding at the Seoul Headquarters of Daishin Securities.
