Memorandum of understanding concluded on a business alliance with Bell Potter Securities (Australia)
Okasan Securities Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Shindo) today concluded a memorandum of understanding on a business alliance with Bell Potter Securities Limited ("Bell Potter Securities" hereinafter) of Australia, as outlined below.
1.Reasons for this business alliance
Since 2006, Okasan Securities has strengthened its systems for placing share orders and gathering information on Asian markets by forming alliances with leading securities companies in Asia.
As part of these efforts, this business alliance with Bell Potter Securities will enable us to enhance our systems for executing share orders in the Australian and New Zealand markets, which have high levels of investment demand from domestic institutional investors, and our system for gathering investment information concerning the Australian market, in addition to our network in Asia.
This will bring to seven the number of business alliances we have formed with securities companies overseas, beginning with the alliance formed in November 2006 with the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Securities Co., Ltd. in Vietnam and continuing with those formed in July 2010 with China Galaxy Securities Co., Ltd. in China; in March 2011 with RHB Investment Bank Berhad (formerly OSK Investment Bank Berhad) in Malaysia; in June 2012 with Daishin Securities Co., Ltd. in Korea; in November 2012 with MasterLink Securities Corporation in Taiwan; and in May 2013 with RCBC Securities Inc. in the Philippines.
